Jehovah's Witnesses

Genesis 1:26:

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

Isaiah 48:16:

“Come near to Me (Jesus), listen to this: From the first I (Jesus) have not spoken in secret, From the time it took place, I (Jesus) was there. And now the Lord GOD (Jehovah) has sent Me (Jesus), and His Spirit.

2 Corinthians 13:14:

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.

1 Peter 1:2:

According to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood: May grace and peace be yours in the fullest measure.

Ephesians 2:18:

For through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.

1 Thessalonians 5:23:

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We are made in God’s image and the above verse shows our 3 in 1 nature just as the Trinity is, 3 in 1.

  • Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that exactly 144,000 faithful Christians go to heaven to rule with Christ in the kingdom of God. They reference Revelation 14:1-4.
  • Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that only 144,000 people will go to heaven and that other people who obey God will live forever on a paradise Earth. They do not believe that God is a Trinity. They believe Jesus died on a pole (also called, ‘stake’) rather than a cross
  • They do not celebrate religious holidays such as Christmas and Easter, nor do they observe birthdays, national holidays, or other celebrations they consider to honor people other than Jesus. They feel that these and many other customs have pagan origins or reflect a nationalistic or political spirit.
